This plane is the only surviving Wright Brothers production series plane of it's type. After their initial flights, the Wright Brothers continued their business, attempting to produce a series of production airplanes based on their original plane; however, other competitors quickly overtook them by making changes to the initial design which the Wright Brothers refused to make. This particular plane was donated to the Deutches museum in 1912, and was damaged when the museum was bombed during WWII.
