The building in the distance is a re-creation of a prison dormitory . The rows of rectangles on the ground are foundations from the other dormitories that existed when the camp was in operation. There were thirty in all. One of the forms of control the Nazi's used over their prisoners was that of extreme cleanliness. Each bed had to be made perfectly, and there could not be a single spot of dirt or dust anywhere. Violations of this ultr-clean regime resulted in heavier work duty, torture, or worse. |
